Orientation North: 25. The North
1. The north is the Pole of nonexistence.
2. The north is the point where the cosmos ends.
3. This Pole is not the ultimate summit of reality.
4. It is not the derivation of all possible orientations.
5. The north is the rupture in dense continuous being.
6. Before this Pole, being stops and turns back.
7. No orientation within the cosmos leads there.
8. The idea of the north is opposed to the idea of the center.
9. The center is the midpoint of all possibilities.
10. It is the universal knot of being.
11. The north is the Pole of impossible.
12. All knots of being are untied in the north.
13. In the center, the principle of coagulation is realized.
14. It is the support of all manifestations.
15. In the north, the principle of dissolution is realized.
16. Any disappearance occurs through the north.
17. From the viewpoint of the center, the north is the absolute periphery.
18. The periphery is absolute due to its complete independence from the center.
19. Problems of being arising in the center are meaningless in the north;
20. for the north itself is a unique problem that recognizes no others.
21. This problem lies in the north's opposition to any possible experience;
22. for the north as such is not objective.
23. Relation to it is reached by the turn of subjective will into itself.
24. This is why the north is not an illusion.
25. Abiding outside of experience, the north has no common measure with being.
26. This is why it is rooted in the absurd.
27. The point of the north coincides with the last frontier of reality.
28. Through it passes the substance of the paracosmic*.
29. The north is the only perspective that has no relation to life.
30. The mirage of life is vampiric.
31. It needs a constant supply of external heat.
32. The source of this heat is death, as an alternative to life.
33. Thus, life is constantly fueled by its own imperfection.
34. The north abides outside the dialogue of life and death.
35. It lacks an energy perspective.
36. This is why from the point of view of life, it is absolute cold.
37. In the north, the universal flow of life freezes and stops.
38. This freezing of life is the only being-crystallization that takes place in the north.
39. It is possible only because it is negative.
40. In objective reality, nothing points to the north.
41. On the path to the north, orienting points are useless.
42. The science of navigation excludes the very idea of the north.
43. This is why abandoning navigation is a turn to the north.
44. The science of navigation stems from the thirst for salvation;
45. for underlying all personal experience is the experience of lostness.
46. The life journey is, as such, an attempt to overcome lostness.
47. This attempt involves appealing to two opposing perspectives.
48. It is always an appeal to what precedes.
49. It is necessarily an appeal to what will be.
50. Looking back always considers the top and the bottom.
51. The top orientation is an appeal to the principle of fatherhood.
52. It is a search for protection from that which does not partake in the drama of being.
53. The bottom orientation is an appeal to the principle of motherhood.
54. It is a search for support in that which brings forth the drama of being.
55. Looking forward always considers the inside and the outside.
56. The inside orientation is an appeal to the principle of the perfect Self.
57. It is an urge to realize all possibilities built into the drama of being.
58. The outside orientation is an appeal to the principle of the guide.
59. It is an urge to escape the danger inherent in the drama of being.
60. Turning to the north is a rejection of the idea of salvation.
61. Thus, it is a rejection of looking back and looking forward.
62. The path to the north is a path with closed eyes.
63. It is a return to the experience of lostness as the only orienting point.
64. Lostness is a universal situation of subjective spirit.
65. This situation expresses an impassable chasm separating will and fate.
66. Restoring the original experience of lostness means rejecting the myth of inevitability.
67. Such rejection implies no turning back.
68. Therefore, dissolution on this path is not balanced by any coagulation.
69. Moving northward is a rejection of both support and protection.
70. Therefore, this movement is dissolution with both hands.
71. He who goes to the north is not afraid of the night.
72. Because the northern sky is devoid of light.
